SCOTT LOGISTICS CORP. ANNOUNCES MAJOR DONATION TO LOCAL
Freight Broker Purchases Body Cameras for Floyd County Police Department
Rome, Georgia - Scott Logistics Corp., a nationwide leader in the freight brokerage industry, announces a major gift to the Floyd County Police Department of video body cameras for its officers. Chief of Police Bill Shiflett graciously accepted the donation with an announcement today at the Floyd County Police Department in downtown Rome. The media event also included a demonstration of the technology.
"Video evidence is an increasingly important element for capturing crime scene testimony and is a valuable tool for presenting demonstrative evidence to juries," according to Chief Shiflett. "Victims and witnesses may frequently change versions of facts because of either fear or memory lapse, but police videos often help investigators determine the truth." Shiflett added, "Thanks to the generosity of Scott Logistics, the police department will now be able to present much stronger evidence from the perspective of the officer."
62 cameras have been acquired for approximately $25,000 in a purchase totally funded by Scott Logistics Corp. The vendor is L3-Mobile Vision which serves as the current supplier for video monitoring in all Floyd County Police Department vehicles.

"It is important for any business to have a great working relationship with local law enforcement, and we are proud we can help them out in this way.
