SCOTT LOGISTICS CORP. ANNOUNCES MAJOR ACQUISITION

Freight Broker Expands To Lafayette, Louisiana

 

Rome, Georgia - Scott Logistics Corp., a nationwide leader in the freight brokerage industry, announces the acquisition of Apex Freight Services in Lafayette, Louisiana. Through its subsidiary Scott Acquisitions Corp., Apex will add $20 million dollars in annual revenue to Scott.

 

With corporate headquarters in Rome, Georgia, Lafayette, Louisiana joins the growing list of Scott Logistics branches which now totals 9 across the country.

 

Tracy Pellerin, the previous owner of the Apex, will stay on as Branch Manager. His team of Account Managers, Load Coordinators, and Sales people will remain as well. "We are excited to be a part of the Scott Logistics network," Pellerin says. "It is a great situation for us to continue servicing our customers under the umbrella of Scott Logistics. Scott is well known throughout the industry for its customer service and its consistent and steady growth through tough economic times. They are well managed and we are thrilled to join the network."

 

As a subsidiary of Scott Acquisitions, Apex Freight Services becomes the latest network expansion for Scott. "The acquisition of Apex is part of our overall strategic plan to grow," explains Scott Logistics President Jay Matthews. "They already have a great customer base which is now combined with our resources. This acquisition is a win for our business, but also our customers." 

 

According to Scott Logistics Owner Diane Manis, Scott Logistics "has built a successful business over two decades thanks to a lot of hard work from a dedicated staff. Our continued growth with new branches and acquisitions insures we will continue to provide that great customer service that sets us apart. We are thrilled to have Tracy and his team join us."

 

In its 21st year of business, Scott Logistics Corp. is based in Rome, Georgia. As a freight broker, Scott matches empty trucks with available loads of freight all over the country. It is a certified 100 percent female owned company. Services include truckload, dry and refrigerated, LTL (Less than a truckload), intermodal, Over Dimensional, Heavy Haul, and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) capability. The company serves the contiguous 48 states as well as Mexico and Canada. Customers include 30 of the Fortune 500 companies. Gross revenue in 2015 exceeded 100 million dollars, and 2016 revenue is expected to approach $150 million dollars with this acquisition.
